The Whale Memorial Dance is a fifteen-minute multi-media production including film, music, spoken word and dance improvisation. Offered in remembrance of cetaceans and gratitude for all they have given human beings both in sustenance and inspiration, the Memorial is intended as a prayer and thanksgiving, and an acknowledgement of human abuses of trust. The Whale Memorial Dance offers us an opportunity to remember the losses of myriad others and also inspires conversation about the value of mourning rituals for human and planetary transformation.

The performance of The Whale Memorial Dance at The Global Summit will be accompanied by a preview of ExtinctionWitness.org, a web project that leverages human empathy and genius to allay the present mass extinction of species and cultures.
