The foundation of The Global Summit is an ecologically inspired social and economic network of Partners in Empowerment™ (PIE), united in action through The Global Summit events and online forums.

Whether a media group leads a cause-based marketing campaign to stop AIDS, a university creates greener technology, or an artist inspires a child in need, social, economic and environmental impact is deepened through mult-sector collaboration.

Comprised of six mutually supportive sectors, Partners in Empowerment™ understand, that by bringing the best of our resources and ideas to the table, we build a better world for humanity.

The following social and economic sectors are the foundation of this emerging global network:

• For-Impact Organizations – Who: Community based and international nonprofits, Foundations, Govt. Service Agencies dedicated to Social, Economic, and Environmental impact.

• Education & Research Institutions – Who: Private, Govt. & Nonprofit educational institutions & practitioners, Scientists, Technologists and those in academia advancing evidence based knowledge, research, understanding, technologies and other tools for a sustainable world.

• For-Profit Businesses - Who: Aspiring and established sustainable businesses, Venture Capitalists, Investors, consultants/ advocacy groups harnessing market forces to build a sustainable world.

• Media & Communications Groups – Who: Print, Radio, Web, Events, Public Information Agencies and journalists who uphold truth in journalism & conscious messaging to support an informed public.

• Social Entrepreneurs – Who: Citizen, non-profit & governmental visionaries & innovators who create solutions benefiting SOCIAL PROFIT benefiting other people & the planet - just as a private sector entrepreneur seeks financial profit for selves and shareholders.

1PIE is a Public-Private Partnership initiative leveraging existing collaboration software and project development education to put the tools to get the job done in the hands of those who need them most, and to make the tools relevant and user friendly. The power of 1PIE to catalyze local action comes through harnessing the diversity of 6 Partners in Empowerment (PIE) sectors to source the vast array of skills, services and other resources that grass-roots communities need.

7SS Project Accelerator: Catalyst for Asset-Based Community Development

WHAT'S NEXT: Using 7 Stages to Sustainability (7SS) as a road-map, the first 1PIE.org application will be in the form of a project development & evaluation system linking transparent and measurable community-based initiatives with the most relevant and supportive global partners. This interactive management system will help grass-roots organizers define local needs, unique resources, set measurable goals and evaluate impact.

NEXT PHASES: Ultimately, local organizers and social innovators will be able to collaborate with global Partners in Empowerment sharing locally appropriate technologies, market access, critical information, capacity and capital to turn local assets into sustainable solutions through the 2.0 version which will be linked into the full-scale 1PIE Global Collaboration portal.
