With 25 compelling original songs by healing music composer/jazz pianist Richard Shulman.
A Dream of Camelot begins as Morgaine, Lancelot, and then Arthur and Mordred, choose to find a better way in the hopes of creating a new Camelot.
They vision their new society and then show up in modern times, faced with a dance of relationships that is grist for the mill in healing their own lives, and their worlds.
The boy gets the girl — or does he? — while the characters explore alternative lifestyles including a community in the woods and a UFO encounter group, with hilarious results. A Dream of Camelot is about loving communication – inside and out; it’s about letting go of what isn’t working and finding new ways within ourselves to change our lives and our world.

Composer, keyboardist, recording artist and producer Richard Shulman focuses on the impact of Life into human expression as a force of creativity, healing, vision and transcendence. His passion is to find and hold a unified vision of new possibilities expressed through music and words. This vision is embodied through many styles of music from healing music through vital jazz, from purely instrumental textures to songs of transformational musical theater.
Trained in the classical and jazz fields (Eastman School of Music, State University of NY at Buffalo), he has developed a heartfelt language in these genres while focussing a significant amount of his output on music for meditation, healing and inspiration.
Shulman has performed at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Art Park, the United Nations, the Kool Jazz Festival, The Amenia Peace Festival and a wide variety of venues throughout North America and in Europe.
Richard has recorded 24 of his own albums, available through RichHeart Music as well as numerous recordings for which he has provided compositions, performances and/or musical production. Two of these albums, Camelot Reawakened and 11:11 Piano Meditations for Awakening have won Coalition of Visionary Resources (COVR) Visionary awards and his Camelot Reawakened DVD was a finalist for a COVR award and received an Accolade award and an honorable mention.
In late September 1996, as Shulman closed his eyes in preparation to compose a Musical Soul Portrait, he saw a vision of a sword descending from the heavens. He described the vision to the client, who said, “I have one word for you: Camelot.”
This led to a nine year process of writing a symphonic score entitled “Camelot Reawakened: A Vision Fulfilled” as well as producing an award winning CD and DVD of the music and the story behind the music.
The Archetype of Camelot holds a strong impulse for the creation of a society in harmony within itself and with the land, a dream of a heaven-on-Earth wanting to be born. So the focus of “Camelot Reawakened” was the fulfillment of dreams of the heart, which synchronistically work together to create a “heaven-on-earth.” The idea behind each of the nine movements was a step towards the fulfillment of any vision, including the initial vision, the community, enthusiasm, healing, facing fear in moving forward, responsibility, internal awareness, integration and empowerment, and the dream fulfilled.
With the completion of the “Camelot Reawakened” project, a realization dawned that many people need to change deeply rooted patterns which are also expressed in the Archetype of Camelot in order to live their dream. The perfect vehicle to show the transformation of consciousness necessary is musical theatre. Each song in “A Dream of Camelot” is an expression of consciousness in a process of maturing awareness. Shulman brought human problems to the Inspiration, and Spirit provided answers through the songs.
“A Dream of Camelot” has taken six years of writing and development to become the transformational catalyst it now is for casts and audiences alike.
