IN THE FORUM:  Within a shared call to climate action, the 5 Impact Teams of 2020 holistically address 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). *See below.  Over three days and 7 peer to peer open innovation sessions participants learn, teach, and turn silos into solutions.  By the end, groups choose the best three outcomes: 1) On the Ground initiative or start up; 2) Legal or policy proposal; 3) Technological solution.

AND BEYOND:  Peer vetted, Champion-led solutions are advanced into prototypes for development at a 2 day, professionally supported Hackathon (Aug 15,16) with fresh teams of technologists, legal, business and other domain experts. Next level outcomes are presented for broader support in the Global Pitch (Aug. 17, 2020) and accelerated beyond. Outcomes may be For-Profit, Government, NGO and/or Hybrid entities.

ONE OCEAN: Unifying challenge to save life on Earth

From the air we breath to the way we move around the blue planet One Ocean connects us all.  A special Impact Team created for 2020 in celebration of Japan’s maritime culture and seizing a critical opportunity to turn the tide of mass extinction. FEMINOMICS: A partnership in empowerment

Could Japan’s demographic and economic challenges be lifted by women’s leadership? A new decade is calling for empowered engagement from the bedroom to the boardroom – academic, political, business, and in the Home. Find other women and men united for equity, diversity and inclusion. Explore how these feminine values, circular business models, and high impact investing foster a culture and economy that works for all. **SDGs 1, 8, 15, 16

WELLBEING 360: Evolving Food, Health & Lifestyles

A healthy world starts with us. As we take in big lessons and rebuild in the aftershock of the COVID-19. we will explore how what we eat, drink and daily do, impacts and is impacted by the wellbeing of our communities and the future of all life around us. Considering Japan’s aging population, work/life balance and climate reality, how can ancient methods, and new technology support a healthy body, mind and spirit?  **SDGs 2, 3, 6, 12

THRIVING CITIES:  From mass urbanization to rural revitalization

While 60% of humanity is destined for the metropolis, is this the way want shape our future? What role do the communities beyond play. Can art and culture support better use of energy, waste, water in the built environment?  Drawing on successes and challenges from the urban benchmark of Tokyo and towns across Japan, we will explore leading edge innovations, fresh ideas, as well as ancient wisdom to enable sustainability, mobility, meaningful work and play.  **SDGs 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 9, 12, 13. 

Learning 4.0: Igniting the era of Innovation

What is the new role of education in the 21st century and how must it transform?  We’ll explore ways innovation in learning can work to level the playing field and drive opportunities in a new economy. From school, to the workplace to the community kitchen, find out and create how new formal and informal education models, tools & technologies to increase unlock human potential, ignite purpose and deepen daily joy.  **SDGs 1, 4, 5, 10

How it WORKS:

Using 7 Stages to Sustainability (7SS) as a framework for action, cross-sector delegates unite, exchange breakthrough technologies, and mutually advance – tangible, immediate – and – longer-term, critical mass – solutions.

17 Goals to Transform Our World

On 25 September 2015, the 193 countries of the UN General Assembly adopted the 2030 Development Agenda titled “Transforming our world: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”.

In addition to specific **SDGs advanced in above Teams, Goal #1 (No Poverty) and #8 (Decent Work/ Economic Growth) are cross-cutting goals, addressed by 7 Stages to Sustainability innovation cycle training & road map supporting cross-sector, interdisciplinary collaboration. #17 is advanced by the Summit program and in the post Summit Impact 365 local SDGs challenge, which distributes tools for local action world-wide.
